Laura Pharoah was born in the Spanish province of Valencia and one of her earliest memories was singing Mexican rancheras at the age of five with her father. This was the start of Laura’s odyssey; a journey which took her through an exploration of different cultures, languages and musical styles.
After having lived and performed in Belgium and France, an opportunity arose for Laura to settle in the North of England and it was in the UK that she was inspired to write her own music: the lyrics began pouring from her in her native Spanish and soon she had completed what was to become her debut album, Rainbow Street.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP0mR3jurSYDue for release in early 2010, Rainbow Street has been recorded in English & Spanish versions in collaboration with prominent artists such as Ian Ritchie (Roger Waters, Laurie Anderson, Pete Wylie), Gemma Buckenham (Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper, Westlife) and Nicki Davis (Annie Lennox). The album is already attracting a lot of attention and the title track has received airplay on BBC Radio 6. Preparations for a tour are now underway so that Laura Pharoah can bring the magic of Rainbow Street into the hearts of as many people as possible.
