Who in hell doesnt love the sludgy grind of a Thrash Metal Band, Megadeth, Metallica (pre Black Album), Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus. Let's talk Thrash.

Hi there! Welcome to the RMF!

Funnily enough I was just chatting about Megadeth with someone on the Bring Me The Horizon thread.

I've seen Slayer live 5 or 6 times now. Absolutely incredible live band!

I agree with you about Metallica... The Black Album was the turning point where they started leaving behind their thrash roots and turned into a commercial rock band. One of the biggest tragedies of modern music... how can a band go from one extreme to the other in terms of their artistic integrity in such a short space of time? I felt completely betrayed by the Load album.

Still, they managed some classic albums along the way... Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets (and also to a lesser extent Kill 'Em All and ...And Justice For All) were incredible albums!

Have you heard Death Magnetic yet? They're still not back to the Metallica of old, but this album's a lot closer than the last 4 or 5 they've released.

Anthrax :D ...this brings back memories of my youth...

Man, Anthrax must have been absolutely ape back in the day, and by day I mean any of the days in 1986. Thanks for showing me that vid, that has gotta be my new favourite Anthrax song. That tune sounds like Thrash and Punk made a hairy love child. Perfect fusion man. How was Slayer? must have been more epic every time. did they play disciple at said concerts?

Slayer rocked every time I saw them. If you ever get the chance, I definitely recommend them!

Ah Disciple is one of their later songs... 2001 I think? I saw them mostly in the 90's when I was pretty much exclusively into rock/metal.
A few songs songs stick in the mind from their gigs, like Dead Skin Mask, Seasons In The Abyss, War Ensemble, Raining Blood, South Of Heaven... great stuff.
