Hi! Welcome to the RMF!

Good link! I hadn't heard these guys in a while. The drummer is incredible!

The lyrics could use a bit of work, though, I reckon.
The "Sleep is for the weak" stuff goes on way too long in my opinion.

Presumably (from your username) you're also into Avenged Sevenfold?

How do you feel about Killswitch Engage?
Personally I prefer their more melodic / less shouty stuff (I'm mellowing in my old age ;) ).

Yeah, Killswitch have had their moments. It's nowhere near as hardcore and some of it's a bit samey - I think they overdo the "emo" choruses a bit - but there's definitely a few gems in there. Some of the musicianship is awesome... reminds me of early 90's metal stuff like Pantera, Megadeth, even a bit of Iron Maiden I dare say, but with a Mike-Pattonesque vocalist and a bit of emo sound thrown in.

Check the weird timings out on this one...

I dunno, struggling to find a decent example on youtube.

Maybe In Flames are more your cup of tea?

hey

i loved both songs actually. i have a varied taste in music apparently. Even though they are similar bands. I really need to listen to more 90's bands like Pantera and Megadeth as they are the band sthat influenced the bands i listen too. I'm more into bands like avenged sevenfold and bullet than screamo bands like bring me the horizon to be honest.

Even though i'm loving dream theater and liquid tension experiment go to love the insrtumental bands hehe (:

DT and LTE! Now you're talking! :D

DT were my favourite band for years! I saw them on the Metropolis 2000 tour at Rock City in Nottingham, and hung around outside afterwards waiting to meet them. I met John Petrucci (oh - I'm a guitarist by the way, so he was my hero in the band) and my mind just went blank....

I couldn't think of a thing to say to him :D

I said something along the lines of "Did you enjoy yourself tonight?" and then I just stood there looking stupid while desperately trying to think of what question I'd most like to ask him. I hadn't met many famous people at that point so I was a bit starstruck :D

If you're interested in hearing some Pantera and Megadeth, I'll dig out a few of their highlights for you...

hang on... [dives off onto youtube]

Megadeth...

Megadeth are a strange one... they've got about 15 albums but there's only really the first 4 or 5 worth listening to. :)

Hi again! And no probs about "late replies"... we're not a bank - you won't be charged for "lateness" ;)

As for the vids... you're very welcome!

If you've got any more recommendations of songs, bands, albums, etc. please post them!

Do you like Tool? Their "Lateralus" album is one of the best metal albums of the last decade, in my opinion.

Not to interject but I believe the song Live in A Hole by Pantera to be retardedly harsh song, the best on Vulgar Display of Power. Try that one for sure.
